December 2010 – July 2011

The Arnhem Fashion Biënnale 2011 was themed around Amber, a muse that personifies the multi-faceted, fleeting nature of fashion. Designers and artists participating were: A.F. Vandevorst, Amie Dicke, Ann-Sofie Back, Bless, Capricious, Commuun, Damir Doma, Fashion In Film, Inge Grognard & Ronald Stoops, Iris van Herpen, Juun J, Maison Martin Margiela, Nicholas Kirkwood, Nico Muhly, Ohne Titel, Patrik Ervell, Preen, Prada, Rad Hourani, Raf Simons, Rodarte, Siki Im, Six Scents, Thom Brown, threeASFOUR, Wendy & Jim.

Designers were invited to show a selection of garments as well as to design their ‘habitat’: an installation that constitutes a universe conjured up by its creator. The result, as envisaged by artistic director JOFF, was an exhibition that focussed not only on fashion collections but also on the infinite worlds that surround them. For the 2011 edition of Arnhem Fashion Biënnale, Judith ter Haar was appointed as Senior Creative and responsible for the artistic team, the concept development and creative thinking.
